Saving you time and money on your daily makeup routine, SPMU means your brows look beautiful from morning to night with zero effort, and zero smudging no matter how busy your lifestyle.
WHY HAVE SPMU?
SPMU removes the time and cost of everyday brow makeup routine, and it creates a stunning shade and extra definition for a more groomed and youthful look. It gives the appearance of realistic looking brow. It is excellent for balancing uneven brows, lengthening them, filling in gaps and even creating completely new realistic looking brows when there is no natural brow hair left. Spmu gives you natural looking shaped and filled brows.
WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
SPMU is suitable for everyone. However, it is ideal for clients with very sparse eyebrow hairs because the shading can give the brow more body and create a natural looking brow shape. This technique is very effective for clients with alopecia too and it is also suitable for all skin types.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Semi-Permanent make up is a complexion treatment to enhance your brows to add definition to the face. The pigment is gently applied to the skin using very fine needles to stencil over and fill a templated shape that is created during the consultation before the procedure begins. The process normally takes 2- 3 hours depending on if it’s a top up or first treatment and varies from person to person.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPMU AND MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a similar method where it creates individual hair strokes, but it doesn’t go anywhere near as deeply into the skin because it is performed using a handheld tool not a digital machine. This means that it is less long lasting and can also be prone to anomalies caused by the naturally occurring oils in the skin. But SPMU Brows is done with a machine to create a more defined natural brow shape.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Between 2 – 3 hours depending on if you’re having your first treatment of semi-permanent makeup or your top up appointment and the top up appointment is 4 weeks after your first treatment, can’t be left longer the 6 weeks because the pigment can start to fade and to then restart the process again.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
You see results after the first treatment.
HOW MANY TOP UPS WILL I NEED?
Usually, you would only need your first treatment and your top up and you will be all set for up to 12 months. With that said, we understand that every Client is unique, and you may need an extra top up in between.
IS IT SAFE?
In this procedure semi-permanent pigments are applied to the dermal layer of the skin in the form of tattooing and its effect lasts up to 12 months, these pigments are usually made from inorganic and pure materials and for this reason it is entirely safe and risk free.
IS IT COMFORTABLE?
It feels like a light scratching feeling, but a numbing gel is applied during the treatment to ensure its as comfortable as possible. Everybody reacts differently but people generally describe the treatment as painless.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
Before your treatment we advise to have no alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen or coumadin for at least 48 hours prior to the treatment. Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor and the treatment will only go ahead with the outcome of a negative patch test that must be done at least 48 hours before hand. The skin will be delicate and sensitive after so try not to make any social plans for the same day of treatment and any waxing or plucking is done at least 48 hours prior to the treatment and electrolysis do no less than 5 days before the procedure.
For the best results after your treatment it is important you follow the aftercare. Keep in mind there maybe some unevenness and loss of colour that is why a re-touch is to be booked in from 4 weeks after the treatment. On your first day an ice pack protected with a cloth may be applied as it is necessary to reduce the swelling. Within the first 72 hours you will start to notice the brows flacking and a bit of dryness, you will also feel a little tenderness, itchiness, swelling and some redness. Daily care must be followed for at least one week until the area has fully healed. Use only a gentle facial cleanser to clean the face during the healing process and keep hair away from the eyebrows. Do NOT pick, peel, or scratch as you risk scarring, infection and loss of colour just allow it to flake off on its own. No makeup must be applied for 72 hours around the eyes and eye area. Do not always expose the healing skin to the sun (wear sunglasses when outside), tanning beds, jacuzzi's, sauna, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams, or any other ointments that you have not been told to use.
Long term care, we advise to use sunscreen on your brows because the sun exposure will fade the brow pigment. If you are planning on having a chemical peel or any medical procedure, please inform the doctor or person doing the treatment.
